How credit unions lend and what they look for
Credit unions are member owned cooperatives, so you join before you borrow. They lend locally, price close to banks and often make room for a business a large bank would turn down, especially when the owner already banks there. Business lending is a smaller share of their book, so the loan officer usually knows the file personally. They want the same core file as a bank: returns, cash flow, credit and collateral.
