Small Business Line of Credit

Linked to a Canadian or U.S.-dollar business chequing account. Interest applies to the amount borrowed.

No universal limit, numerical credit cutoff or fee schedule was established from the reviewed page. A U.S.-dollar account does not make this a U.S. lending product.

Our assessment of the published programs

  • Useful comparison for a Canadian business weighing conventional bank credit against government-supported asset or working-capital financing.
  • The separate CSBF line may suit eligible operating expenses; the asset loan has different limits and contribution requirements.

What to weigh carefully

  • These are Canadian products; do not import U.S. TD rates, SBA programs or application requirements.
  • TD pricing is application-specific; no general approval promise or numerical score minimum is established here.
  • Long amortization does not guarantee a matching interest-rate term or automatic refinancing.
  • Government-backed programs still involve borrower repayment, guarantees and bank underwriting.

Questions before you accept an offer

  1. Which product is being quoted, and who is the contracting lender?
  2. What are the rate spread, registration charges, bank fees, appraisal costs and net usable proceeds?
  3. What security, personal guarantee and borrower contribution are required?
  4. When does the rate reset or loan mature, and what happens to any remaining balance?
  5. What documents and operating history apply to this specific product?

Ask for written terms. Compare net cash received, total repayment, fees, payment timing and early-payoff costs for the same financing need.
